Treyarch, the company behind Call of Duty: World at War, is coming strong with their new title Call of Duty: Black Ops. They say that they have been focusing on the online aspect of this game because of the great success of Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2.

“We’re really focusing on socialisation and personalisation. We know that players want to play the game the way they want to play it and make it their own. Create-A-Class is an area that we’re giving as just one example of personalisation and how we’re really developing that system for anyone that’s familiar with it.
“In terms of socialisation, there’s a lot more to an FPS than just what happens within that eight-minute match. There’s plenty of things that happen when you’re in the lobby, when you go to work the next day. Personalisation and socialisation are two core aspects of multiplayer that we’re focusing on.

“The things that didn’t work in past Call Of Duties we’re going to make better or just do away with. Things that were popular have been kept and develop further.”

I can't wait, they better have something like Nazi Zombies, maybe Terrorist Aliens? whatever, I just hope its not a dissapointment like World at War.

Sega's mascot, the blue speed demon, Sonic is making a comeback in the new Sonic the Hedgehog 4. This game is supposed to continue from the old school Genesis versions of the game, so yes, that means good ol' 2D side scrolling action. Sega announced this game back in February and was planning to release it as soon as possible, but recently there was a blog post by Sega saying that they will be pushing the release date back to the second half of Summer 2010. Sega said that they "want to ensure that we’re delivering the best Sonic experience possible." Well summer is right around the corner and I cant wait. I love these continuations of the old school games like the Megaman series that continued on the PSN (Megaman 8 and Megaman 9). This game will be making its appearance on PS3, XBox, Wii, iPhone, and iPod Touch.

The Call of Duty series has been one of the most popular first person shooter series that has been out. Especially with their smash hit Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2, this game has made it name as one of the most popular current games out there. Before MW2 there was a WW2 themed title called Call of Duty: World at War, which featured an addictive mini game called Nazi Zombies: Nacht Der Untoten (night of the undead). If you guys didn't know, Modern Warfare and World at War were made by 2 different companies. MW was by Infinityward, while World at War was by Treyarch. Since the developer is Treyarch, I would expect another mini game similar to zombies, maybe aliens or even more zombies would be fun! But since the developer is Treyarch, the general gameplay MIGHT not be as good as MW and its sequel MW2. Check out this video demo of the game, let us know what you think about the new COD.

So remember back when i wrote the article saying that Super Street Fighter 4 was on the way? Well the wait is over, the game hits the shelves today (April 27th) and for only $40. Well i guess if you look at it as an update, it's a pretty expensive update. But wait till you hear what is included. For all you Street Fighter fans out there, you will be glad to hear that there are 10 characters that come with this expansion and within those 2 are new characters. The characters include: DeeJay, T. Hawk, Guy, Cody, Adon, Ibuki, Makato, and Dudley. The two new characters are Juri, a female Tae Kwon Do master, and Hakan, a Turkish Brute who covers himself in oil to slide around the levels. Remember those bonus stages from Street Fighter 2? They are back, you can total a car with your bare hands or break the tricky barrels on the barrel bonus level. There are new costumes, new taunts, new supers, new ultras, new backgrounds, and even new online modes! This definitely makes this new Street Fighter seem like a sequel instead of just an add on. Pick yours up today and if you're on PS3 I might just see u in online V.S.

"We'll continue to evolve the service with features and experiences that harness the full power of Xbox 360," Xbox Live general manager Marc Whitten said in February announcing the change. "To reach our aspiration, we need to make changes to the service that are incompatible with our original Xbox V1 games."

This included the Xbox smash hit, Halo 2. Today is the last day that the die hard Halo 2 fans out there on the original Xbox can play online multi player. Well, i guess for all you Halo 2 fans on Xbox still, i think its time to go 360!

I’m excited to see that Capcom is coming out with yet another addition to their legendary Street Fighter franchise. Super Street Fighter IV will be available on April 27 2010 as an upgrade for your Street Fighter IV. So yes, you are not getting a brand new game, but hey it’s kind of like getting a new game for $40. Then on the other hand, $40 on an update is pretty pricey. This is what Christian Svensson is VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development at Capcom U.S. had to say about the pricing:

“It's $40. We had two choices, and the economics didn't work out on one... No matter what, we were fracturing the userbase, and we had to start from scratch. There was no way to just sort of do an update on the DLC, and if we'd done what we did Lost Planet Colonies -- I don't know if you'll recall -- basically it had everything had the first game had and a ton more.

And we did that as our Platinum package. The problem is that it gets a new title ID, which means no cross-play with the original consumers. And the other part is designing the game around, figuring out who has which package, even if you could do that. So, we knew we had to go from scratch. A Platinum [version] wasn't really an option no matter what we did.

The other part of this is frankly we were putting in so much new content, we thought that a platinum play wasn't the right play anyway. So, going $10 above Platinum/Greatest Hits pricing was sort of a nice compromise. And we haven't announced it, but for those who have purchased and played Street Fighter IV on the system that they play this on, there will be a nifty little special set of things that those people will have the option of enjoying that others won't.”

I don’t know, but $40 for all these new characters and features it seems like a great buy; but I’ve always been a Street Fighter fan so, it wouldn’t have mattered.
