Treyarch, the company behind Call of Duty: World at War, is coming strong with their new title Call of Duty: Black Ops. They say that they have been focusing on the online aspect of this game because of the great success of Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2.

“We’re really focusing on socialisation and personalisation. We know that players want to play the game the way they want to play it and make it their own. Create-A-Class is an area that we’re giving as just one example of personalisation and how we’re really developing that system for anyone that’s familiar with it.
“In terms of socialisation, there’s a lot more to an FPS than just what happens within that eight-minute match. There’s plenty of things that happen when you’re in the lobby, when you go to work the next day. Personalisation and socialisation are two core aspects of multiplayer that we’re focusing on.

“The things that didn’t work in past Call Of Duties we’re going to make better or just do away with. Things that were popular have been kept and develop further.”

I can't wait, they better have something like Nazi Zombies, maybe Terrorist Aliens? whatever, I just hope its not a dissapointment like World at War.

If you guys know Warcraft 3, then you will have heard of DotA (Defense of the Ancients), which was a custom game that became one of the most popular online games today. Heroes of Newerth is basically the same concept as DotA but HoN is a stand alone game instead of a custom map that is run within Warcraft 3. The graphics have been dramatically improved and if you are familiar with DotA, you will pick up on this game very fast. The reason being is that the play style is almost exactly the same as DotA and the characters, although they look different, they are pretty much same characters. Don't get me wrong, not all the characters are the same as DotA, there are some new ones, and some that seem like a mix of two characters in DotA. This game has been in beta phase for a while now, from closed beta to open beta, and yesterday they finally went retail. This game is a one time $30 purchase with no reoccurring charges. And if you logged on yesterday, you would have noticed a new patch 1.0.

The patch included:

• Fixed terminating players properly ingame when they left
• Fixed disconnection caused by the terminated player message
• Fixed upside down taskbar icon under Linux
• Fixed matchmaking giving improper point values
• Fixed the black and white box when picking a dev hero
• Fixed MinPSR/MaxPSR not being reset back to 0 when a game ends
• Rate of passive income is now adjusted when a player terminates (Higher with less players)
• Cleaned up create game dialog
• Added a frame that holds the disconnect button on the loading screen
• Updated tooltip description for hardcore mode so it doesn't say items are dropped
• Tweaked Linux resource auto-reloading
• Balphagore
• Minions spawned by Balphagore's ult will now die if their target dies
• Won't eat Items, Wildsoul's Bear, or Mechanical units anymore

Not literally but Steam finally released the full version of steam for Mac users! This is surely a very happy day for all the gamers that use Macs. Valve had announced the beta a while back and it has been in beta stage for a while now; today you can go and download it for you Mac and start gaming right away. There are no major differences between the PC and Mac version, maybe none at all. So you wont really have to worry about not being able to play Team Fortress 2 or Counter Strike or anything that Steam has on their network.

The Call of Duty series has been one of the most popular first person shooter series that has been out. Especially with their smash hit Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2, this game has made it name as one of the most popular current games out there. Before MW2 there was a WW2 themed title called Call of Duty: World at War, which featured an addictive mini game called Nazi Zombies: Nacht Der Untoten (night of the undead). If you guys didn't know, Modern Warfare and World at War were made by 2 different companies. MW was by Infinityward, while World at War was by Treyarch. Since the developer is Treyarch, I would expect another mini game similar to zombies, maybe aliens or even more zombies would be fun! But since the developer is Treyarch, the general gameplay MIGHT not be as good as MW and its sequel MW2. Check out this video demo of the game, let us know what you think about the new COD.
