This is one of the stupidest ideas for mounting an iPad in the car. This guy mounts the iPad right onto the steering wheel (where the horn is) and says that this is a lot safer than using your iPhone to text or read. Like anyone reads books and newspapers while they drive right? What if he crashes? his airbags will shoot the iPad right into his chest. People come up with the craziest things.

I'm sure you guys have seen this app before, you might even have it on your iPhone. If not check this article out, it even has a video demo. Take a minute to see it on the iPhone. MotionX looks AMAZING on the iPad. It was already one of the best looking GPS apps out there on the app store, and now that it has made its way to the iPad they tweaked up a few things and made it look great. You can already find this app on the iTunes app store for $2.99, so all you have to do is find a way to mount your iPad into your car! Maybe like this or like this?

iPad Installed into Smart Car Dash

Check out this video of these guys who installed a custom dash kit into a Mercedes Smart Car and mounted an iPad. Unfortunately car docks and mounts are not available for the iPads yet but you can always look for a car audio place and get you a quote on a custom dash kit. Looks amazing, I wish I had a nicer car to put one of these in.

iPad 3G Comes with AT&T Assisted GPS!!

So the iPad 3G has been released and theres 2 things different from the Wi-Fi version. First is the 3G of course, and second is the AT&T assisted GPS. The assisted GPS is a new feature that wasn't announced until the release day. Compared to the iPhone 3Gs's GPS, the iPad 3G's GPS was relatively slower to pull up a final lock on your location than the iPhone 3Gs but that doesn't mean that it is worse than the iPhone GPS. The reason is that during the test the iPhone 3Gs lost its lock on a few times while the iPad's GPS was able to consistently lock onto your current location without lag or having to catch up to your location. If you use your iPhone 3Gs often you will notice that sometimes your GPS loses track of where you are or tracks your location inaccurately. So in the end, the slower lock on is actually not a bad thing because of the fact that you don't ever really lose tracking. This is definitely a great perk that came with the 3G version.

Scosche Attempts iPad Car Mount

So the iPad has been out for about a month now and there has been no sign of any car mount or dock for the iPad. In my opinion, the only good way to mount an iPad in a car is with a custom dash kit made to fit an iPad perfectly. Scosche came out with a dock for the iPad but its a little weird. Well first let me run you through the features that it comes with. The dock features a 30-pin dock connector cable, a ball joint, and an audio jack. Sounds normal right? Well here is the part that might sway you away from this product. The iPad dock takes over your double din stock stereo. Yep, you heard me. In order to use this dock/mount you will have to replace your stock stereo system with the dock. Well if you thought about it, at first it wouldn't seem to be a problem, it might even make your dash a little more high tech looking. But when you remove the stereo system you will be missing your Radio, CD player, and amplifier. The most important part is the amp because with the built in iPod you can afford to lose your CD player, but if Scosche doesn't include an amp of some sort (which will increase the price by a lot) the dock will not be able to power your speakers. I think that with this problem on hand, there would be almost no interest in this product unless Scosche made a single DIN version. Well we'll just have to see what Scosche comes up with. So earlier you saw the Samsung OEM car charger, but if you don't really care about brand name or not, here are 2 after market car chargers from HHI. One is just a regular car charger and the other is a retractable model. First let me explain the difference between OEM and after market products. OEM is the term given to a manufacturer that buysÃ‚Â hardware from another source, and implements it into their own design. So when we say its Samsung OEM, basically Samsung obtained the parts for the car charger and made their own version. Down to the bottom line, after market and OEM products are usually about the same, the only thing is that buying an OEM product gives people the peace of mind, that they have a quality product from a trusted name.

Google Android integrated in an Auto mobile?

Google Android has really expanded into the mobile phone industry and brought a big change to those who likes iPhone, however, Google is not stopping there, after giving out information about heading towards the TV portion, now they have even moved into the Auto mobile industry. Roewe 350 is a car based on the N1 concept shown last year, which now will have an integrated DVD/ GPS navigation system that runs on GoogleÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Android V2.1. This will be amazing because it could pull down real time traffic reports and find out shorter routes to your destination really easily. Here are some other interesting functions included, there are function that allows direct web access and also chatting functions, both which are bad and not something a driver should be doing. Either the car is already in production and will be launched at April 23^rd at the Beijing auto show.
