This is the Allkit All-in-One FM transmitter from HandHelditems.com. In this how-to guide I will explain to you the directions on how to set up this device and also show you how to use each of it's function.
How-To Guide on setting up your Allkit FM transmitter:
- Open the box that it comes in, and remove all the items included. The box should include the transmitter, a 3.55mm audio cord, and a small instruction manual.
- This device is made for the all different versions of the iPod, and iPhone. You will find an iPod/iPhone docking cable attached to the transmitter which allows you to charge and transmit music wirelessly.
- This device also works with other MP3 players and other phone devices as well. The only difference is that you would have to use the 3.55mm audio jack for music and to charge your device you would need a USB cable that is compatible with your phone or mp3 device.
- What you want to do next is once you are in your car, locate the cigarette lighter jack in your car, and plug the end of the transmitter in. Once that is done, you will see a blue LED status light come on telling you that the device is powered on. Also you will see the LCD screen on the top of the device light up as well.
- Once you have the device plugged into your car and powered on, what you want to do next is to take a look at the top of the transmitter. You will see a LCD screen that shows the FM station that you will be transmitting to. To change the station that you want to transmit to, you just simply locate the 2 buttons on the right side of the LCD screen and tune it to the desired station.
- After you have the station set on the transmitter, you will then have to set your car's audio system to "radio" then you will have to tune the radio on your car to the same station as what you have on your transmitter.
- Next, depending on what type of device you own, you will connect it accordingly.
iPod:
If you are using an iPod you would use the iPod Docking cable that is attached to the bottom of the transmitter.
iPhone:
If you own an iPhone, you would want to use the iPod docking cable that is attached to the bottom of the transmitter. If you choose to use the hands free function that this transmitter offers, you would have to attach the included 3.55mm audio cable to your phone and to the audio jack located on the top left side of the transmitter.
Other mp3 devices and Cell Phones:
This device is made to work with all mp3 players and cell phones. If you want to charge your device with the transmitter, you will need to have a USB cable (not included) that is compatible with whatever device you are trying to connect to the transmitter. You will then connect the USB cable into the USB jack located on the top right side of the transmitter thus allowing you to charge your device. To be able to transmit the audio to your car, you will need to plug the 3.55mm audio cord into the side of the transmitter (located on the top left of the transmitter), and into the device that you are trying to use. This way you will be able to charge your device and play your music at the same time.
- So now you have the transmitter plugged into the cigarette lighter jack, your device (phone or mp3 player) connected to the transmitter, and the radio station set to the same station as the one showing on the transmitter.
- Simply turn on your music for your device and you will hear whatever you are playing on the car speakers!
How to use the Hands Free function:
- To use the hands free function, you will need to set the transmitter up the same way you would on a mp3 device, but remember to connect the 3.55mm audio cable and turn the volume on your telephone up to the maximum setting. Once a call comes in, you will see it displayed on your device's screen. You can just pick up the phone and you will hear the conversation over the car speakers.
